Civil Rights

If a government or law enforcement agent subjects another person to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, that government agent and their agency may be liable for damages to the person injured. 

This includes government discrimination, violation of free speech rights, abuses of power, and excessive force in arrests or improper arrests, whether or not the arrest itself was lawful.
